2024 Holiday Home Lighting Competition

The Holiday Home Lighting Competition is back with new award categories! Here's what you need to know:
Award Categories and Prizes
- First Place (Individual Home)
- Best Handmade / DIY Decorations (Individual Home)
- Neighborhood Spirit (Group of Homes or Block)
- 6 Holiday Cheer Runner Up Awards (1 per City Council District)
The following categories will win a $100, yard sign, award from our sponsors, and certificate from the City Council.
- First Place Overall (individual)
- Best Handmade / DIY Decorations (individual)
The following category will win a City-promoted invitation to community to visit the Neighborhood Spirit winning homes on December 14th with refreshments, yard sign, award from our sponsors, and certificate from the City Council.
- Neighborhood Spirit (group of homes or block)
The following category will win a yard sign and certificate from the City Council.
- 6 Holiday Cheer Awards (1 award per City Council District)
Timeline
- 11/16/24 - 12/1/24: Entry / nomination window
- 12/1/24 at 11:59PM: Deadline for all homes to be decorated
- 12/2/24: City staff will compile all entries for semifinalist selection
- 12/6/24: Semifinalists will be notified and map of semifinalist homes posted
- 12/8/24: Judging
- 12/9/24: Winners announced
Other Info
- Multiple category entries are allowed
- 2 - 3 semifinalists will be selected per Council District and the Mayor will select 2 - 3 semifinalists from across the City
- Semifinalist homes will be the homes judged on Sunday, December 8th
- For the Handmade / DIY Decorations category, at least 50% of the decorations must be handmade (see form from examples)
